Alicia Padron
Eric Orchard
Daniel Potvin
Shelly Wan

A couple hours before we went to our Venice honeymoon, Cécile tagged me - and if I'm right, that means I have to tell seven things about me and then tag seven other bloggers myself. So, here we go, and these are seven true facts about me :

1 - I married the wonderful Cécile last month.

2 - I love painting and drawing, especially low-key and tonal compositions.

3 - My favorite artists are late XIXth century painters, including French realists (Corot, Bastien-Lepage, Friant, Carrière...), Americans (Whistler, Dewing, Sargent, Beaux...), British (Waterhouse, Leighton...). Also, Zorn, Thaulow, Brokman... Among contemporary painters I admire and envy : Jeremy Lipking, Lucian Freud, Andrew Wyeth, David Levine, Rupert Alexander, Brad Aldridge...

4 - I discovered illustration with John Howe, a man I had the privilege to meet a couple of times. Other living illustration masters I'm fond of : Alan Lee, Jeffrey Jones, George Pratt, Kent Williams. And among ancient masters : Franklin Booth, John Bauer, Edmund Dulac.

5 - More than fictions, I like reading classical art instruction handbooks, and I especially liked those by Harold Speed, a truly incredible teacher.

6 - I teach typography and out-of-doors sketching in a graphic design school, in Paris.

7 - My favorite picture might be The Mystic Wood, by Waterhouse. If not, maybe any Nocturne by Whistler or The Young Girl With a Lute, by Thomas Wilmer Dewing.
I love unfinished pictures, and those which seem to be left so.

And now, here are four blogs I love, and you should have a look at :

A very big congratulations to you and Cecile! That's wonderful news! The only problem with getting married in Paris is where do you honeymoon? It's already the most beautiful city in the world. I'll try to spread this tag on, we have a new born baby in the house and I haven't as much time as I did before!

Thanks to all for your kind words. Since the wedding, Cécile and I have been pretty busy, more than I expected. I'll try to post more pictures in the weeks to come and take the time to see your stuff too!
